His Beginning
Starting the Journey
Axel started working at Kopi Cinta in December 2023 as a Deaf staff member.
He works across multiple stations, including the bar, popcorn, and cotton candy sections.
His role includes preparing drinks, serving customers, and creating small joyful moments— especially for families who visit.

Purpose
Choosing Growth and Independence
Axel joined Kopi Cinta because it provides inclusive job opportunities for Deaf staff.
He wanted to become more independent, learn new skills, and grow within the service field.
During his time here, he feels happy and proud— supported by an environment where he can communicate and collaborate with the team.
Challenge
When Communication Feels Different
One of the main challenges Axel faces is communication with customers who are not familiar with sign language.
Lip-reading can also be difficult at times, especially depending on how people speak.
But he handles this through writing, gestures, or support from his teammates.
His Message
Axel hopes hearing people can be more patient and open when communicating with Deaf staff.
There is no need to be afraid. With simple writing or gestures, we can understand each other.
Because for him, communication is not about using the same way— but about the willingness to understand.
